KC Concepcion is Darna (Video) in ASAP 18 Opening Number

KC Concepcion took on the role of the Filipino superheroine Darna during the opening number of the ABS-CBN noontime variety show "ASAP 18" on Sunday.


During the number, KC first appeared on stage as an ordinary woman separated from a boy, who turned out to be portraying Narda's brother, Ding.

She then delivered the immortal line, "Ding, ang bato!" and emerged in Darna's iconic red costume.

As Darna, KC had a "fight scene" with a red-haired villain in a green costume portrayed by Iya Villania.

ABS-CBN recently acquired exclusive rights to "Darna," one of Mars Ravelo's popular works. It has yet to choose who will portray the Pinay superhero, but KC, Angel Locsin, Cristine Reyes, Sarah Geronimo and Jessy Mendiola have been considered by many as potential perfect fits for the role.
